The Distance Dental Education (DDE) Program at Tufts University offers the following courses:
- TMJ and Occlusion Craniofacial Pain
This is course DEGR213 and DEGR220. This course provides the student with the basic understanding of TMD and Orofacial Pain concepts in accordance with the theories and practices taught at the Craniofacial Pain Center at Tufts Dental School. This course is based on the philosophy of a multi disciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain in the head, face and neck region. It is designed specifically to provide the student with the necesary information to be able to choose an appropriate thesis topic. .

- Library Thesis Skills
This course will cover Library skills needed for thesis preparation. There will be hands-on library workshops in Boston covering Ovid MEDLINE, Refnotes, ILLiad (how to order papers via the Hirsh Health Sciences Library), locating E-Books and E-Journals licensed by Tufts Libraries, and finding web resources for dental research. .

- Stat Biostatistics
This is course DEGR201 and DEGR301.
This course provides an introduction to the basic principles and applications of statistics as they are applied to problems in clinical care research. Emphasis is on developing an understanding of the assumptions, limitations, and practical considerations in the use of statistical methods in research. In this course, students will acquire an understanding of the process of the statistical investigation of data used in the health professions. Participants will be able to apply the steps of statistical inference, select appropriate statistical tests for their hypothesis, use computers to explore data and perform statistical tests, and interpret the results and computer output for commonly used statistical procedures.This course will cover material on sampling variation, hypothesis testing, and data manipulation. Specific testing procedures discussed include t-tests, chi-square tests, one-way analysis of variance and correlation. .
